Scholarship for Pioneers

You succeed quite naturally in things that others find difficult to achieve. That’s why, as part of our Pioneer Scholarship program, we’re looking for students who stand out from the crowd and who dedicate their superior skills to specific purposes. • Are you a passionate person who believes we can make the world a more sustainable place, and have you taken steps to make this a reality?
• Have you demonstrated your diplomatic skills at school by calmly negotiating with level-headed arguments?
• Did you found your first startup at the age of 17 because you had an idea you believed in—and even if you failed, would you do it all over again?

Scholarship for Pioneers at a Glance

We will award 10 scholarships with a total value of €90,000. Each of the 10 recipients will be awarded €750 per month for one year, in addition to individually tailored coaching.

Application

Application documents required

• Application form: Complete the application form with basic information about yourself.
• Video or essay: Either shoot a short video OR write a short essay in which you introduce yourself and tell us about your extraordinary talents.
• YUpload the video to any video portal (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.). The link to the video must be provided in the application form.
• Copy your essay directly into the specified text field in the application form (maximum 1,000 characters, including spaces).
• Tabular Curriculum Vitae: Attach a current version of your CV.
  
  Applications will be accepted only via the completed online application form. Email applications will not be accepted.

The Video / Essay

Either make a short video OR write a short essay. The video or essay should help us get to know your personality and find out about those special characteristics that make you extraordinary.. You can upload the video to any popular platform (Youtube, Vimeo, etc.).The most important thing is that you be authentic—the video does not have to be professionally edited, and it shouldn’t be longer than 1 minute. The essay must not exceed a maximum of 1,000 characters (including spaces).

Selection Process

How the selection process works:

• You must submit your application online by 15 April, 2018.
• Our jury will select 30 finalists from the entire pool of applicants between 16 April, 2018, and 30 April, 2018.
• The selection process will take place in Berlin at the offices of idealo internet GmbH during the period between 14 May, 2018, and 18 May, 2018 and finalists are invited to attend (the costs will be covered by idealo internet GmbH). Each of the 10 winners will receive a scholarship.
