What you get

You get a grant that covers your travel and accommodation costs while you do your degree project (examensarbete, your master's thesis) abroad. It also covers some small extra costs linked to the trip. The exact sum is set for each award round and shown once you log in to KTH's scholarship portal. The money comes from Karl Engver's Foundation, one of around 90 foundations managed by KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Who can apply

• University: You study at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
• What you do: You carry out your degree project (master's thesis) abroad.
• Field of study: Any subject and any KTH school can apply.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply. You only need to be a KTH student.

How to apply

You apply through KTH's scholarship portal. Log in with your KTH account to see and submit the application. The window runs from 1 to 31 October for a degree project during the following spring term. Send questions to the KTH scholarship office by email.

How realistic are your chances?

This award only goes to KTH students who do their degree project abroad, so far fewer people qualify than for an open scholarship. If you are a KTH student with a confirmed thesis placement abroad and you apply within the October window, your prospects are good. Apply as soon as your placement is settled.
