University of Oxford - A Physics Prize for the best BA literature project

The one-off prize of about 175 EUR (£150) is awarded for the best literature review project in the physics degree programme at the University of Oxford. A literature review project is a written piece of work in which students analyse and summarise existing research findings on a topic, rather than conducting their own experiment. The Department of Physics awards this prize for outstanding achievement in the final year of the Bachelor’s degree programme. It is a one-off cash prize, not a regular monthly grant.

Eligibility

• Where you study: You are studying physics at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
• Level: You are in the final year of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Physics.
• What counts: As part of your final examinations, you will submit a literature project.
• Field: Physics only.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You do not need to submit a separate application. The prize is awarded on the basis of the literature projects submitted as part of your final examinations in physics. There is no additional form to complete and no deadline other than your regular coursework.

How realistic are your chances?

It is a single prize for the best literature project amongst final-year physics students at Oxford; the field of entrants is therefore small, but the bar is set high. You cannot apply directly; the prize is awarded to the best submission. Your chances depend entirely on the quality of the project, which you will have to write anyway. Think of it more as a reward for outstanding work than as something you should factor into your planning.
