About this scholarship
What the scholarship gives you
You got about 5,750 EUR (£5,000) for one academic year, taken off your tuition fees, to study a full year at a university in China. Ten of these scholarships were offered each cycle. The University of Edinburgh set up the award in 2012 with the Scottish Government, who shared the cost. It marks the link between Scotland and China and honours Eric Liddell, the 1924 Olympic 400-metre champion who was born in China and studied in Edinburgh.
Who could apply
- Where you study: You were an undergraduate at the University of Edinburgh.
- Where you go: You had already secured a place on a full-year study-abroad programme at a Chinese university.
- Nationality: Any nationality could apply.

How to apply
In earlier rounds, a selection committee met in April and told all applicants the result in early May. This award is now closed and no longer accepts applications.
