About this scholarship
What the Aston Alumni Scholarship gives you
You get a 20% discount on your tuition fees for the first year of a Master's programme at Aston University in Birmingham or London. This is an automatic fee reduction, not a monthly payment. It covers the first year only. It does not carry over to later years, and you lose it if you repeat, pause or withdraw from your studies. Aston University gives this to its own graduates who return for a postgraduate degree.
Who can apply
- Your first Aston degree: You already hold a degree from Aston University, for example a BA, BSc, BEng, LLB, MA, MSc, MBA, MEng, MPharm, MBChB, MSci, MRes or PhD. Aston University London and Aston Online graduates count too.
- Your new course: You are starting a full-time taught Master's on campus (MSc, MA, MBA, MEng or LLM), or an online MSc or DBA. The Executive part-time MBA and Online MBA also qualify.
- You pay your own fees: You cover the fees yourself, from savings, family, friends or a UK government postgraduate loan. You do not qualify if an employer, company, government or other outside organisation pays for you.
- Start date: Your course begins in January, April or September 2026, January 2027, or April or May 2027. Courses starting from September 2027 are not covered.
- Open to all: No limits on nationality, field of study, age, gender or religion.
- Not eligible: Undergraduate degrees, integrated Master's, PhDs, Masters by Research, and courses run outside the Birmingham and London campuses.
How to apply
You do not fill in a separate application. Once you accept your offer for an eligible Master's, Aston University checks your eligibility automatically when you enrol.
How realistic are your chances?
This is not a competition. It is an automatic discount for anyone who graduated from Aston and returns for a qualifying Master's while paying their own fees. If you meet those conditions, you get the 20% off. There is no selection panel and no ranking against other applicants.
