About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive your full tuition fees plus a living-cost grant of about EUR 525 per month for up to three years. Keble College, University of Oxford, awards this scholarship in conjunction with the University’s Clarendon Fund. It covers your tuition fees and living costs for the entire period during which you are required to pay tuition fees. Up to three of these scholarships are awarded at the start of each academic year. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided your academic performance remains satisfactory.
Who can apply
- Level: You will be starting a postgraduate programme at Oxford, ideally a research programme such as a DPhil (which is what a PhD is called at Oxford).
- Field of study: Preference is given to PhD students in medicine. On occasion, Master’s students on a teaching programme and students on postgraduate training programmes may also be considered.
- University: You are studying at the University of Oxford. If you win, you will automatically be accommodated at Keble College.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Grades: Selection is based solely on outstanding academic achievement and your potential.
How to apply
No separate application is required. Your application will automatically be considered if you submit your application for a Master’s programme at Oxford by the relevant deadline in December or January. You do not need to specify Keble as your preferred college.
How realistic are your chances?
With up to three scholarships per year and a clear preference for students in medical research, this programme is highly targeted. The pool of applicants is smaller than for open scholarships, but the requirements are high. If you are a strong applicant in the field of medicine with an outstanding academic record, your prospects are good. Applying for a research degree by the deadline in December or January gives you the best chance of success.
