Frederick Bonnart-Braunthal Scholarship

You get monthly support of about 2,630 EUR for up to 36 months to complete a doctorate (MPhil/PhD) in law at University College London (UCL). A doctorate is a research degree where you write an original thesis with the guidance of an academic supervisor. The award comes from the Bonnart-Braunthal Trust and runs through the UCL Faculty of Laws.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are starting or already doing a doctorate (MPhil/PhD).
• Field of study: Law, with research links to political science or the natural sciences.
• University: You study at the UCL Faculty of Laws in London.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Grades: You have an outstanding academic record and a strong research proposal.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a single, narrowly cut award at one top law faculty. It draws a small but strong field of applicants, all judged on academic excellence. If you have an outstanding record and a sharp research proposal, you have a real shot. Note that this scholarship no longer appears among UCL Laws' current PhD funding, so it may not be offered anymore.
