University of Chichester - Gifted Athlete Programme

Benefit

You will receive a support package to help you pursue your sport whilst studying. It is based on financial support scaled to how high you compete, so that high-achieving athletes benefit the most. The support starts at 50 GBP (approx. 58 EUR). In addition to the financial support, you’ll have access to the Fitness Suite at the Tudor Hale Centre for Sport, GASP branded clothing, and support from university staff in the areas of training, strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, sports psychology, physiotherapy and performance analysis. Previous scholarship holders have competed in sports ranging from cricket and sailing to Olympic shooting and show jumping. The programme is run by SU Sport at the University of Chichester.

Eligibility

• University: You are enrolled on a degree programme at the University of Chichester.
• Sporting level: You take part in competitions at regional, national or international level, or can provide convincing evidence of your outstanding future potential.
• Entry requirements: You meet the standard entry requirements for your chosen degree programme.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying in Chichester.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the programme’s application form. The deadline for applications for the current round is 4 October. A selection panel will review each application and contact you within two weeks of the deadline.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is tied to a specific university and clear sporting requirements, meaning that the pool of applicants is limited to students from Chichester who are already competing at a high level. If you can demonstrate regional, national or international success and meet the entry requirements for your degree programme, your prospects are good. The financial support is tiered according to performance, so that the best athletes benefit the most, but the comprehensive support package is available to all selected students.
