Benefit

You get a 50% cut on your first-year tuition fees at City, University of London (now City St George's, University of London). Alongside the money, you become a "City Scholar": you receive an official certificate and represent the university at events, in student societies and in community projects. The university awards this to new undergraduates who beat the grades in their offer.

Eligibility

• Level: You are starting a full-time bachelor's degree at City St George's.
• New starter: You are in your first year. You cannot have already studied part of an undergraduate degree, and years 2 and 3 do not qualify.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects with standard tuition fees. NHS-funded courses do not qualify.
• Where you study: You study at City St George's in London.
• Nationality: You are from the UK or the EU.
• Grades: You beat the conditions of your offer. Meeting them is not enough; you need results above what you were asked for.

How realistic are your chances?

This award goes only to first-year students at one London university who beat their offer grades, so the field is limited to top new arrivals at City. If you exceed your offer conditions, your prospects are reasonable, and the university has awarded it to dozens of students in a single year. Aim high on your entry grades, since that is the main thing selectors look at.
