University of Applied Arts in Vienna (Vienna/Austria) - Support scholarship

What the support scholarship gives you

You will receive a one-off payment of up to 3,600 EUR grant for one academic year. This grant is intended to fund a specific artistic or academic project of yours, such as a dissertation, a final-year project or an exhibition. The money must be spent on the work itself. You may not use it for living costs, rent, tuition fees, other fees you are required to pay yourself, or hardware. The grant is awarded by the University of Applied Arts Vienna (dieAngewandte).

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
• Study type: You are enrolled on a standard degree programme and not on a single course or as an auditor.
• Your project: You would like to fund a specific artistic or academic project, such as a dissertation or an exhibition project.
• Field of study: All subjects taught at the university are eligible.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications are made via the same procedure as for the university’s merit-based scholarship. Applications can only be made during the autumn semester, not during the summer semester. The deadlines are 15 May and 14 November. The next application round begins in autumn 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding is restricted to students at a single university and to a specific project, meaning that only a small number of applicants are competing for it. If you are enrolled on a standard degree programme and can describe a clearly defined project that meets the eligibility criteria, your chances are good. Remember to apply during the autumn application window, as the summer term is excluded.
