AK Oberösterreich funding for your final thesis

You will receive up to 1,100 EUR for writing a diploma, master’s or doctoral thesis on a topic specified by the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labour (AK OÖ). You will also receive specialist support from a specialist department within the AK OÖ. For some topics, the AK OÖ will put you in touch with the people you need to interview. You will select your topic from a rotating list published by the AK OÖ, which focuses primarily on work and society: the labour market, education policy, social and economic policy, equality and women’s rights.

Who can apply

• Degree: You are writing a diploma thesis, a Master’s thesis or a doctoral thesis. Bachelor’s theses are not eligible for funding.
• University: You are studying at a university or university of applied sciences in Austria.
• Timing: Your dissertation is still in progress. Completed dissertations are not eligible for funding.
• Topic: You write on one of the topics announced by the AK OÖ, for example in the fields of social sciences, economics, law or gender studies.
• Supervision: Your university or Fachhochschule supervises your thesis.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Membership: Members of AK OÖ and their children are given priority, although membership is not required.

How to apply

Write a brief summary (exposé) of your planned final thesis. In this exposé, describe your topic, your research question and how you intend to investigate it. Send it to the Department of Economic, Social and Public Policy at AK OÖ. If your application is accepted, you will receive the grant.
