University College Cork offers The Society for General Microbiology Prize for undergraduates. The prize was established by The Society for General Microbiology. It is avaliable to students that are studying Microbiology at a recognized university. The prize consists of a monetary prize and one year's free memebership of the Society. Each prize is valued at €63. The prize is presented to students in their penultimate year. To win the prize the student must achieve the highest aggregate mark at the Third Science Examination. This score must be obtained on the student's first attempt.
