About this award / prize
Soutien Sandoz research grant
You get a one-off 30,000 EUR grant to fund a basic-research project in paediatric endocrinology, the study of hormones and glands in children. Basic research means work that builds fundamental scientific knowledge, not commercial product development. The award comes from the Société Française d'Endocrinologie et Diabétologie Pédiatrique (SFEDP), the French society for paediatric endocrinology and diabetes, together with the pharmaceutical company Sandoz. It is one of seven SFEDP research prizes in 2026. Winners present a short summary of their project at the society's annual meeting.
Who can apply
- Level: You are a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher in a health-related field. You are past your first professional training as a doctor, researcher or pharmacist.
- Research field: Your project is basic research in paediatric endocrinology.
- No commercial purpose: Your project is not commercial medical research and does not benefit the pharmaceutical industry, directly or indirectly.
- Backing: You have a support letter from an SFEDP member and a letter from the head of your lab or research unit.
How to apply
You send one PDF by email to the SFEDP office. It holds your motivation letter, CV, the completed application dossier, the two support letters and proof of your financial situation. The deadline for the 2026 round is 30 March 2026 at 23:59. Selected candidates present their project at the prize ceremony.
How realistic are your chances?
This grant is cut narrowly. Only PhD students and postdocs with a basic-research project in paediatric endocrinology qualify, and you need an SFEDP member behind you, so the applicant pool is small. If you clearly fit that specialised field and have solid backing from your lab, your prospects are good. As only a handful of prizes are shared each year, a well-defined project matters more than a broad CV.
