Université Libre de Bruxelles - Nihoul Fund

Nihoul Fund

You receive a yearly grant if you combine top-level sport with higher education and face money problems. The amount is not published. It is paid once a year, not monthly, and set to fit your personal situation. The fund is run by the Student Welfare Office (Service Social Étudiants, SSE) of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). It was set up in memory of Nicolas Nihoul, a young ULB staff member who died in 2010.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You study, or want to study, at a higher-education institution in French-speaking Belgium (the Wallonia-Brussels Federation).
• Sport: You are a high-level athlete who combines competitive sport with your studies.
• Financial need: You cannot pay for your studies on your own.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Nationality: Any nationality.

How to apply

Contact the Student Welfare Office (SSE) at ULB, at their reception desk or by email, and ask about the fund. You then have an interview where your situation is assessed. There is no fixed deadline.
