About this grant / loan
Benefit
You can receive up to 10,000 EUR as a one-off grant for a project that improves your quality of life following a permanent disability caused by a road traffic accident. You can spend the money on adapted equipment at home, at school or at your sports club, on home modifications, on a sporting challenge, or on a new plan or dream for your future. Emilie Leus’s parents set up the fund after a drink-driver caused the accident in which she lost her life. It is administered by the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF) in Belgium.
Eligibility
- Who you are: You are 30 years old or younger, were injured in a road traffic accident and now live with a permanent disability.
- Where you live: You live in Belgium.
- Applying alone: You are applying as an individual for your own project. There is a separate call for applications for clubs, associations and rehabilitation centres.
- Studies: Any field or school is fine, and you can apply even if you are not a student.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted online via the King Baudouin Foundation’s application portal. There are two application rounds per year, one in the spring and one in the autumn. The deadline for the 2026 round in the autumn is 8 October 2026.
