About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive up to 700 EUR per month for a study period, an internship or a placement as part of your final-year dissertation in a country outside Europe. The funding covers one academic cycle (Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD) and amounts to up to 12 months. The exact monthly amount depends on your destination and your status. In addition, there is a lump sum for travel expenses. This is supplementary funding, not full funding: it helps with the costs of travel, accommodation, language preparation and the higher cost of living abroad, but does not cover all costs. The funds come from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (FAME) mobility fund and ULiège’s own mobility fund.

Who can apply

  • University: You are a full-time student at the Université de Liège and have paid your tuition fees.
  • Where you go: You spend at least 2 consecutive months in a country outside Europe. This country must not be Belgium or the country in which you normally live.
  • Type of stay: You are studying at a partner university, undertaking an internship for which you receive credit points, or spending time abroad as part of your final-year dissertation. Unpaid internships that do not award credit points and internships undertaken after you have graduated will not be recognised.
  • Faculty approval: Your faculty’s international coordinator must approve your plan before you can apply.
  • Field of study: All subjects are open.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Priority: Where financial resources are limited, priority will be given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as those undertaking an unpaid work placement or studying abroad, taking into account their income and social circumstances.

How to apply

First, contact the international coordinator at your faculty. They will provide you with information on the possible destinations, the criteria and the deadline, which vary from faculty to faculty and change every year. Once your faculty has approved and selected you, submit your application via the myULiège portal before the deadline.
