About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a grant to help fund your agricultural studies or a study trip. There is no fixed amount. You specify the amount required and attach a budget breakdown; a committee then decides on a case-by-case basis how much the grant will be. The money can be used for study-related travel within Denmark or abroad, as well as for other study-related costs. It is awarded by the Det Kongelige Danske Landhusholdningsselskab (Royal Danish Society for Rural Home Economics, LHS), which was founded in 1769 and promotes education in Danish agriculture.

Who can apply

  • What you study: You are undertaking a basic agricultural training programme (landmandsuddannelse) or an advanced agricultural training programme (videregående jordbrugsuddannelse).
  • What the money is for: You have a specific plan, such as a study trip or another study-related project, and can set this out in a budget.
  • Reference: You can get a reference from your main-subject teacher or another suitable person.
  • Your finances: You must state whether you receive a Danish state study grant (SU) or any other form of financial support, as well as your income and assets. The committee will take your financial situation into account.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Please complete the official application form, which is available as a PDF file on the association’s website. Send it, together with your letters of reference, your financial plan and your tax documents, to the case officer in Aarhus. The deadline is 1 October each year.
