What the travel grant gives you

You get a travel grant to help pay for a study stay or internship abroad during a commerce or business course. It covers the extra costs of studying in another country, such as travel and living expenses. The fund sets no fixed amount. You write your own budget when you apply, and the board decides how much to award. The grant comes from the Direktør Peder P. Hedegaards fond til Købmandsstandens Fremme, set up in 1949 and run since 2026 by Erhverv Norddanmark, the main business organisation of Northern Jutland (Nordjylland).

Who can apply

• Field of study: You study a commerce or business-related subject.
• Level: You are at the level of a Bachelor’s, Master’s (Kandidat), Professional Bachelor’s (Professionsbachelor) or Diploma (Diplomuddannelse) degree, or at a comparable level.
• Where you study: You are enrolled at a Danish educational institution.
• Your stay abroad: You are planning to study or do an internship abroad and have already secured a place at a university or been admitted there.
• Link to Northern Jutland: You have a connection to North Jutland. For example, you grew up there, live there, are studying there or were born there.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the online form on the Erhverv Norddanmark website. You must attach proof of enrolment, proof of your stay abroad, your academic results and a financial plan, and write a short letter of motivation. The application deadline is 27 July each year. The scholarships are awarded at an event on 2 September.
