Benefit

You will receive a one-off grant of up to 2,000 DKK (about 270 EUR) towards further training or a study trip in the field of home economics and housekeeping. This may take the form of a course, a conference abroad or a diploma module. The amount is paid as a one-off sum, not on a monthly basis. The scholarship is administered by Professionshøjskolen Absalon, a Danish university of applied sciences. It was established by State Councillor Søren Sørensen in memory of his sister, Johanne Kirstine Sørensen, a cookery and home economics teacher.

Eligibility

• Union membership: You must be a member of the Danish Teachers’ Union (Danmarks Lærerforening, DLF). This is a mandatory requirement.
• Your qualification: You are a qualified nutrition and home economics graduate (ernærings- og husholdningsøkonom) or hold a vocational Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and health (professionsbachelor i ernæring og sundhed).
• Your plan: You would like to undertake further training or a study trip in the field of home economics and housekeeping (Husgerning).
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Grades: There is no set mark threshold, but your results will be taken into account.

How to apply

Please submit the application form, providing details of your project, your place and year of study, your professional activities and your financial situation. The deadline for applications is 15 April, and decisions will be announced at the end of May. Applications will be treated in confidence.
