Familien Nyholms Hjælpelegat (The Family Nyholm's Supporting Scholarship)

You will receive a grant of at least 2,000 DKK (about 270 EUR) towards your education or further training. Each year, the fund pays out a total of around 12,000 DKK (approximately 1,600 EUR), divided into several grants, meaning that only a few family members receive money in each round. The grants are paid out in June each year. The fund is a Danish family foundation. It supports descendants of the head of the family, Jochum Nielsen (approximately 1675 to 1729), and is managed by Svend Ulrik Nyholm in Gentofte.

Who can apply

• Family link: You are a descendant of Jochum Nielsen, whether by blood or by marriage. This is the most important requirement.
• Purpose: You need the money for education, vocational training or something similar.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Age: Applicants of all ages are welcome to apply, although preference will be given to young people.
• Grades: Your academic performance will also be taken into account.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Please email a short letter of motivation to the administrator, explaining why you are applying. Please use ‘Slægtslegat’ as the subject line. The application deadline is 15 May. You will receive a response approximately two months after submitting your application.
