About this scholarship

What the scholarship gives you

You will receive a one-off grant towards your agricultural training or a related study trip. The amount of the grant is not fixed. You should state the amount required in your application, and the committee will decide on a case-by-case basis. In total, the fund awards around 100,000 DKK (approximately 13,400 EUR) annually across both funding streams, meaning that individual grants tend to be rather modest. The money comes from the Danish foundation ‘Familien Petersen, Fruervadgaards Mindelegat’, based in Hilleroed, which supports young farmers in their training.

Who can apply

  • Field of study: You train in agriculture, forestry, horticulture or a related subject.
  • Where you study: You are enrolled at an agricultural college, a university of applied sciences or a university in Denmark and can provide proof of this.
  • What you can fund: Either your training programme itself or a study trip associated with it. A study trip must not have been completed at the time of application.
  • Financial need: You need the money. You submit your latest tax statement (årsopgørelse) from the Danish tax authority SKAT.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

The committee selects candidates on the basis of their academic achievements and financial need.

How to apply

Please send us a single PDF file containing the application form, the signed declaration of consent, your SKAT tax assessment notice, a one-page letter explaining your need for funding, proof of enrolment and a financial plan. You can apply by post or by email. There are two application rounds per year, with deadlines on 15 April and 15 October. Only successful applicants will be notified.
