Lademanns Fond grant

You get financial support to help publish a book or produce another cultural work that would struggle to sell on its own. The foundation does not state the amount. The money covers Danish or foreign fiction and non-fiction, scientific and general-interest alike, as well as visual, audio and audiovisual projects such as radio or TV. The foundation applies one test: the work has little chance of being published on normal commercial terms, so without the grant it probably would not appear. Danish publisher Jørgen Lademann set up the foundation in 1972. His children and grandchildren now run it.

Who can apply

• Who you are: You apply as an individual, a company or an organisation.
• What the money is for: You have a planned book or cultural work, such as a visual, audio or audiovisual project.
• Commercial viability: Your work has little chance of being published on normal commercial terms.
• Field: Any subject, fiction or non-fiction, Danish or foreign.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You apply by e-mail to the foundation. There is no form to fill in. The deadline is 1 March each year, but you can also apply at any time. Only successful applicants get a reply, usually about four months after your application arrives.
