About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a one-off grant. The amount varies considerably, ranging from a few thousand Danish kroner to several hundred thousand kroner (around 5,360 EUR is a typical average). There is neither a fixed amount nor a set funding period. The foundation decides on the amount of funding on a case-by-case basis. The money comes from a Danish foundation established in 1960 from the estate of the grocer L. F. Foght, who ran a carpet and textile business and collected art. It supports four areas: medical research; visual artists specialising in sculpture and painting; craftspeople specialising in furniture-making, upholstery and textile crafts; and projects aimed at combating disease and promoting recovery.
Eligibility
- What you do: You work or study in one of the supported fields: medical research, sculpture or painting, furniture-making, upholstery or textile crafts, as well as projects relating to disease control and recovery.
- What the money is for: As an artist, you can use it to create works, organise exhibition projects or fund your training. As a medical researcher, you can use it for your research itself.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Where you are based: You can apply regardless of which organisation you belong to. The foundation is Danish.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted via the Foundation’s online portal, where you will first need to create an applicant profile. Applications are only accepted in February, May, August and November. Each application is assessed within four months, and you will receive a response immediately afterwards.
