About this scholarship

Master Builder Aage Kristensen and Wife Laurette Kristensen's Foundation

You receive a grant of a varying amount to train as a bricklayer in Denmark. The foundation sets no fixed sum, and the money is paid out each December. It is run by the Copenhagen Bricklayers' Guild (Københavns Murerlaug). At least one fifth of the money paid out each year must go to training support or to prizes for outstanding journeyman's test pieces (the final practical work an apprentice makes to qualify).

Who can apply

  • Trade: You are a trained bricklayer (journeyman) or a bricklayer apprentice, and you want support for further training, for example at a building-construction or technical school.
  • Also eligible: Bricklayer masters who are or were members of the Copenhagen Bricklayers' Guild and are in financial need, their widows or children, and bricklayer journeymen in need or their widows.
  • Field of study: You train in the bricklaying trade or related building-construction subjects.
  • Where you study: You study in Denmark.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
  • Proof of use: If asked, you must show the money went to its stated purpose, for example by sending in your exam certificates.

How to apply

Send the shared application form of the Copenhagen Bricklayers' Guild, with certified copies of your references and exam certificates, by 15 November each year. Awards are decided and paid out in December.
