About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off grant to support yourself and your education. The amount is not stated and is determined on a case-by-case basis. The money comes from the Kong Frederik den Syvendes Stiftelse at Jaegerspris Castle, which manages this fund (the ‘Fruentimmerfonden’ or Women’s Fund). The grant is intended to help cover your living expenses in Denmark, but does not cover study trips abroad.

Eligibility

  • Who gets priority: The fund primarily supports single mothers. You will be given priority if you are not married and do not live with a partner.
  • Your children: You have at least one child under the age of 18 living with you at home.
  • Nationality: You are a Danish citizen.
  • Financial need: You are in financial or social hardship; for example, you are living on social security benefits, a pension, unemployment benefit or the Danish state study grant (SU).
  • Education: You are currently studying and can specify your degree programme and your expected graduation year.
  • Field of study: All subjects are accepted.

How to apply

Complete the Foundation’s application form – a PDF document available on their website – and email it to the Foundation, addressed to ‘Fruentimmerfonden’. You can apply each year between 1 June and 1 October, with 1 October being the deadline for applications. The grants are paid out in November or December. Please enclose supporting documents regarding your circumstances, such as your latest tax assessment or a payslip.
