About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a scholarship to fund a technical training programme in Denmark or abroad. There is no fixed amount per grant. The foundation determines the amount based on your budget. The money comes from a Danish foundation established in 1960, which supports young people in their training within the iron and metal industry and related technical fields. An important rule: if you combine this grant with other funding and thereby receive more money than your budget requires, you must report this and repay the excess.

Who can apply

  • Field of study: You are studying a technical subject such as marine engineering (Maskinmester), engineering, forging and welding technology, or industrial and workshop technology. The focus is on subjects related to the iron and metal industry.
  • Economics only in rare cases: An economics subject is funded only abroad, only if it links concretely to the iron and metal industry, and only if you already hold a bachelor's degree.
  • Where you study: You can study in Denmark. You can also study abroad if the place you’re studying offers something you wouldn’t be able to get in Denmark, and if it’s relevant to your career.
  • Minimum length abroad: A technical stay abroad must last at least 1 semester. An economics stay abroad must last at least 2 semesters.
  • Financial need: If your net assets exceed 200,000 DKK (approximately 27,000 EUR), you will not normally be considered.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
  • Not funded: PhD programmes in Denmark, business studies in Denmark, work placements and non-technical subjects.
