About this scholarship

United Scholarship of the Trade Society for Kongens Lyngby

You will receive a one-off grant, usually amounting to between 10,000 and 15,000 DKK (about 1,340 to 2,010 EUR, averaging around 1,680 EUR), which is paid out in June. Several grants are awarded in each round. The exact amount depends on how many suitable applicants apply in the year in question. The fund is managed by the board of the Trade Association for Kongens Lyngby and the Surrounding Area (Handelsforeningen for Kongens Lyngby og Omegn). It supports young people who are preparing for a career in Danish trade and business. You can use the grant, for example, to fund a self-funded course or to study abroad.

Who can apply

  • What you are doing: You are a young person undertaking an apprenticeship or a degree course within the Danish business sector. This includes both students and apprentices in the retail sector, the catering industry, the optometry sector and other professional fields.
  • Link to Kongens Lyngby: You live in the municipality of Lyngby-Taarbæk or attend Lyngby Handelsgymnasium, Lyngby Handelsskole or UNORD.
  • Field of study: Any education or training in the field of commerce and business, ranging from higher education to apprenticeships in a shop or restaurant.
  • Where you study: Your training can take place in Denmark or abroad.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Fill in the application form from the Trade Society's website and send it as a PDF by email to the Society's secretariat. The deadline is 31 May each year. The board reviews all applications and decides who receives a grant. An employer or teacher may also nominate a trainee.
