Support for study trips (IDAs og Berg-Nielsens Studie- og Støttefond)

You get a one-off grant for a study or internship stay abroad that is part of your engineering studies: 6,000 DKK (about 800 EUR) for a study stay and 3,000 DKK (about 400 EUR) for an internship. You can receive this grant only once during your studies. The fund is run by IDA (Ingeniørforeningen i Danmark), the Danish engineering association.

Who can apply

• Degree: You study on a Danish engineering programme.
• Where you go: You go abroad for a study stay or an internship that is part of your studies.
• Credit transfer: The stay counts towards your degree. You can transfer the credits back home.
• Length: The stay lasts at least 12 weeks.
• Timing: You apply before the stay starts.
• Not covered: You cannot use it to earn a full foreign master's degree.

How to apply

You apply through the fund's online form. There is a separate link for a study stay and for an internship. There are three deadlines each year: 15 March, 15 May and 15 September. Awards are paid out the following month. Among all qualified applicants, the grants are given by drawing lots.
