Grocer Jens Holst's Scholarship

You will receive a one-off payment of approximately 1,000 EUR. You can use this for school, further education or a training course in home economics. The scholarship was established by the late grocer Jens Holst. It is administered by the Diocese of Viborg (Viborg Stift) in Denmark, which pays out a total of 50,000 DKK (approximately 6,700 EUR) annually to all scholarship holders.

Who can apply

• Gender: You are a girl or a young woman.
• Family situation: You have lost your father or your mother.
• Family background: You come from a family of workers or tradespeople.
• Region: You are from Jutland (Jylland), and your parents lived there.
• Field of study: Every type of education counts, from school through to higher education and training in home economics.

How to apply

Download the application form from the Viborg Diocese website and submit it together with the required documents. These include your birth or baptism certificate, a school report, a letter of recommendation and your tax assessment notice. There are two application deadlines: 1 February and 1 November. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
