Silkeborg Kommune - Lundings og Jones' Uddannelsesfond

Benefit

You get a one-off grant, usually between 20,000 and 25,000 DKK (about 2,700 to 3,400 EUR). The fund's board sets the amount, so you do not name a sum yourself. The money is paid each September. The fund is run by Silkeborg Kommune (the municipality of Silkeborg, Denmark) and supports further education for young people linked to the Silkeborg area. Four out of five grants go to people continuing their studies after a basic education; one in five goes to people who have finished a vocational apprenticeship.

Eligibility

You must fit one of two routes.

• Route 1, further study: You have finished a basic education such as upper secondary school (gymnasium), HF or commercial school, and you are now in further education.
• Link to Silkeborg (route 1): You have a connection to the Silkeborg area. For example, you grew up and went to school there, you worked there after your basic education, or you live there now.
• Route 2, apprenticeship: You have completed a vocational apprenticeship in retail, trade, office work, crafts or industry. You hold the qualifying certificate (lærebrev or svendebrev) and any required trade exam, and you are now continuing your education.
• Residence (route 2): You must live in Silkeborg Kommune.
• Age: You must be under 35 when the grant is awarded.
• Studying abroad: You can apply even if you study outside Denmark.

How to apply

You apply through the digital form on the Silkeborg Kommune website and log in with MitID. The form is open from late June to mid-August each year. Applications sent outside this window are not considered. If you are selected, the fund contacts you by secure digital post in early September.
