Skaberhus' Scholarship (Skaberhuslegatet)

You will receive a one-off grant of 5,000 DKK (about 670 EUR), which will be paid as a lump sum in the year in which you win the prize – not on a monthly basis. One pupil is selected per cycle. The scholarship is administered by Viborg Katedralskole, a Danish secondary school in Viborg.

Who can apply

• Your old school: You have graduated from Viborg Katedralskole or Frederiksberg Gymnasium. The award alternates: In leap years (for example, 2024, 2028), the prize is awarded to a graduate of Viborg Katedralskole, and in the intervening even-numbered years (for example, 2026), to a graduate of Frederiksberg Gymnasium.
• Where you study now: You are enrolled at a Danish university or at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they meet the above-mentioned requirements set by the school and the university.
• Grades: You get good marks and show real commitment to your studies.
• Family link to DSB (a plus, not a requirement): If your parent or guardian was employed by the Danish State Railways (DSB), you will be given priority provided that all other candidates are equally qualified.

How to apply

Please send your application by post to Viborg Katedralskole, addressed to the Headteacher, ensuring that the envelope is marked ‘Skaberhuslegatet’. Please enclose a short letter of motivation, a copy of your current school reports and your tax assessment notice (årsopgørelse). The application deadline is 1 December each year, and you will receive a response within approximately one month.
