About this scholarship

Maria Bojesen Foundation grant

You will receive a one-off financial grant designed to help you overcome financial difficulties if you are, or have been, a teacher. You can use this money to deal with financial or housing problems, or to fund retraining for a different profession. Individual grants amount to approximately 10,000 EUR, although the exact amount varies as the foundation allocates a fixed annual total across all recipients. The Maria Bojesen Foundation is a Danish charity administered by the Ingrid Jespersen Upper Secondary School in Copenhagen. It is named after the teacher Maria Bojesen (1807–1898), a pioneer of women’s education in Denmark.

Who can apply

  • Profession: You work, or have worked, as a teacher.
  • Financial need: You are experiencing financial difficulties, for example because you have lost your job, are ill or have run into difficulties for personal reasons.
  • Students: In special cases, teacher-training students can get help to finish their studies.
  • Who applies: Only individuals may apply; organisations are not eligible.
  • Field of study: The funding is linked to the teaching profession, not to a specific subject.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
