About this scholarship

Catalan Summer University (UCE) grant

You will receive a one-off grant of 75% of the cost for taking part in the Catalan Summer University (UCE), a seven-day summer school in Prada, Northern Catalonia (France). For students aged between 18 and 25, the grant amounts to 416 EUR (out of a total of 555 EUR). For students aged between 26 and 30, it amounts to approximately 459 EUR (out of a total of 612 EUR). This amount covers your course place, accommodation and all meals for the entire week, meaning you only need to pay the remaining quarter yourself. The grant is provided by AGAUR, the funding agency of the Catalan regional government (Generalitat de Catalunya). The 2026th edition will take place from 17 to 23 August and will include university lectures in the mornings, as well as workshops, debates and cultural events.

Who can apply

  • Level: You are enrolled on an official bachelor’s degree programme at the university in 2025-2026, or you have already registered to start your studies in 2026-2027.
  • Where you study: Your university is part of the Catalan higher education system or the ‘Xarxa Vives’ university network.
  • Age: You will be between 18 and 30 years old during the funding period.
  • Field of study: Any subject.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Full attendance: You are registering for the full seven-day event and will be attending in person.
  • Not funded before: You have not yet received this grant in the previous round under the same registration.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the AGAUR portal. The application window for 2026 runs from 22 to 30 July and closes at 14:00 (Barcelona local time). Should the budget be exhausted, applications will be funded in the order in which they are received. You are therefore advised to apply as early as possible.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is linked to a specific course and is open exclusively to students at Catalan universities or those in the Xarxa Vives network, meaning that the pool of eligible applicants is quite small. Scholarships are awarded on a ‘first come, first served’ basis until the funds have been exhausted. If you meet the eligibility criteria and apply in good time, your chances are good.
