Postgraduate Iberoamerican University Association (AUIP) - Abroad Scholarship between Andalusia and Latinamerican Universities

Benefit

You will receive up to 1,400 EUR to cover the cost of the international flight as part of a study or work placement between an Andalusian university and a partner university in Latin America. The AUIP books the flight ticket directly through its own travel agency, so you do not need to purchase it yourself. The programme is run by the Asociación Universitaria Iberoamericana de Postgrado (AUIP) and funded by the Regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía). It promotes exchanges of postgraduate students (Master’s students, PhD students and participants in specialisation programmes) between Spain and Latin America.

Eligibility

• Who you are: You are a postgraduate student (Master’s, PhD or specialisation), a lecturer, a researcher or the director of a postgraduate programme.
• Your home university: Your university is an active member of the AUIP.
• Where you go: The trip connects an AUIP university in Andalusia with an AUIP university in Latin America. Eligible Andalusian higher education institutions include Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, Seville, the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía and the Universidad Pablo de Olavide. Trips between two Spanish higher education institutions are not eligible for funding.
• Field of study: All subjects can apply.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided that both their home university and their host university are members of the AUIP.

How to apply

First, arrange the exchange with your host university and agree a work plan for your stay. Then submit your application through the AUIP online portal. There are two windows for 2026. Apply by 3 November 2025 (23:59 Madrid time) for stays starting between 1 February and 30 June 2026. Apply by 13 April 2026 (23:59 Madrid time) for stays starting between 1 July and 30 November 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding scheme is very narrowly defined. Both your home and host universities must be active AUIP members, and the trip must link Andalusia with Latin America, meaning that the pool of eligible applicants is small. If you already have a confirmed host and a solid work plan, your chances are good. The committee takes into account the duration of your stay and the level of support provided by the host university; therefore, co-funding from the host institution is an advantage. It is worth applying during the first application window and establishing contacts at an early stage.
