About this scholarship

Master scholarships for job-seeking graduates in Galicia

This scholarship covers the enrolment fees for an official Master’s degree programme at a public university in Galicia, Spain. The exact amount depends on your degree programme. It ranges from 591 EUR to about 835 EUR and is paid as a one-off sum once your scholarship offer has been confirmed. Only credit points for which you are enrolling for the first time will be taken into account. The funding comes from the Xunta de Galicia, the regional government of Galicia. Its aim is to help unemployed graduates improve their prospects in the labour market by undertaking a Master’s degree. The total budget for this funding round is 90,000 EUR.

Who can apply

  • Your situation: At the time of your application, you are registered as unemployed.
  • Degree: You already hold a university degree which you obtained before 30 September 2025.
  • What you study: You are enrolling on an official Master’s programme (60, 90 or 120 ECTS credits) at a public university in Galicia (A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela or Vigo).
  • Credits: You are taking at least 60 credit points that have not already been recognised from previous academic achievements.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. They must live in Galicia and be studying at one of the region’s public universities.
  • No double funding: You have not yet received a full fee waiver or any other financial support for this enrolment.

How to apply

You apply online via the Xunta de Galicia platform using an electronic ID, a recognised certificate or the Chave365 system. The application round runs from 6 August to 6 October 2026. Applications will be ranked according to the length of your continuous period of unemployment, so a longer period of unemployment will improve your position on the waiting list.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a narrowly defined target group: unemployed university graduates resident in Galicia who are enrolling on a Master’s degree programme there. As a result, the pool of applicants is smaller than for open scholarships. Since places are allocated primarily on the basis of the length of unemployment, applicants who have been unemployed for a longer period have the best prospects. If you clearly meet the eligibility criteria, your chances are quite good within the framework of the allocated budget of 90,000 EUR.
