Pedro Marco Grant

You receive 3,500 EUR for an art residency in Requena, near Valencia. Half is paid at the start and half at the end. You also get free accommodation in a studio house (casa estudio) in the old town of Requena. There you live and work on your project for 20 to 30 days in September 2026. At the end, the town of Requena organises an exhibition of your work with a printed catalogue. The grant is run by the Fine Arts Faculty of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), together with the town of Requena and the artist Pedro Marco, who lends the studio house. During your stay, tutors from the faculty's five departments guide your work.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You must be enrolled at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). Students from other art colleges are not eligible to apply.
• Study level: You are in the 4th year of a Bachelor (Grado) or on an official Master's programme.
• Age: At the time of submitting your application, you must not be older than 30.
• Your project: You are to submit an original art project, using the medium of your choice. Projects that explore and promote Requena and its historic old town will be awarded higher marks.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at the UPV.

How to apply

Please submit a PDF file (max. 10 MB) containing your project, an explanatory report, a short video of up to 2 minutes, photographic documentation of your current work and your artistic CV. You can submit the documents at any of the UPV’s registration offices or via the university’s online registration system. The deadline is 15 June 2026. A selection panel will assess the applications, with the project itself accounting for 60 per cent of the assessment. The decision will be announced by 31 July 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

Only one scholarship will be awarded, but the pool of eligible candidates is limited. Applicants must be studying Fine Art at this particular university, be in their 4th year of a Bachelor’s degree or on a Master’s programme, and be under the age of 30. As a result, the pool of applicants remains small compared to open art prizes. The project carries the greatest weight; therefore, a compelling, well-documented proposal with a connection to Requena is decisive for the decision.
