Academic Excellence Credit Programme

You will receive a low-interest student loan of up to 8,000 EUR per year to fund your studies at University of Navarra in Spain. This private university has campuses in Pamplona, San Sebastián, Madrid and Barcelona. This is not a traditional scholarship, but a low-interest loan. It is renewed each year and can accumulate over the entire duration of your studies. If you pass all your exams in the relevant year (in the first or second exam session), the university will cover all the interest and administration fees. This means you will effectively be using the loan free of charge. If you achieve the higher grades specified in the terms and conditions, your debt will be reduced by 50% or even 75%, meaning that part of the loan will be written off. Any tuition fees exceeding the amount of the loan must be paid by other means.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are starting a degree at the University of Navarra.
• Study phase: You must enrol in the first year. It is not possible to enrol in a later semester.
• Grades: You’ve got very good grades in upper secondary school (Bachillerato).
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

You select this payment option when enrolling via the University of Navarra’s miUNAV portal. Within three days of enrolment, you must send the application form and the required documents to the Student Finance Office. Enrolment takes place in the summer, with the key dates being 20 June, 22 July and 8 August.

How realistic are your chances?

As this programme is linked to a specific university and is aimed at first-year students with good school grades, the pool of eligible applicants is quite small. If you are admitted to the University of Navarra with strong Bachillerato grades and submit your application immediately after enrolment, your chances are good. Bear in mind that this is a loan that you will have to repay, not a grant. Good exam results can lead to a waiver of interest and reduce your debt.
