SEPI Internship Grants

For a paid work placement with a Spanish state-affiliated company in Spain or abroad, you will receive 1,100 EUR per month for up to 12 months. The work placement lasts for at least 6 months and may last up to 12 months at the host company’s request. If you have obtained a higher vocational qualification (Técnico Superior de FP) instead of a university degree, you will receive 1,000 EUR per month. For placements abroad, a supplement set by the host organisation may be added. You will also be covered by accident insurance and be insured under the general Spanish social security system. The grant is provided by the Fundación SEPI, which has been running this programme since 1980 in collaboration with partner companies such as NAVANTIA, TRAGSA, ENSA and MERCASA.

Who can apply

• Qualification: You have obtained a university degree or a higher vocational qualification from an officially recognised Spanish institution. If you are still studying, you are considered to be qualified provided that you are no more than 30 ECTS credits short of completing your degree. A foreign qualification will only be recognised if it has been recognised by the Spanish Ministry.
• Recent graduate: You completed your degree on or after 1 January 2024, or are still in the process of completing it (with a maximum of 30 ECTS remaining).
• Age: You were born on or after 1 June 1996, so you are about 30 years old or younger.
• No work experience: You have not yet worked professionally in your field, either as an employee or on a self-employed basis. Work placements and apprenticeship contracts do not count towards this.
• Field of study: Open to all disciplines.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Willing to move: You are prepared to live in the town where the work placement is taking place.
• First SEPI grant: You have not previously received a SEPI scholarship, nor have you terminated one prematurely.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the Fundación SEPI website. Applications submitted by any other means will not be accepted. The deadline for the first 2026 round is 8 March 2026. If you pass the formal assessment and the pre-selection stage, you will be invited to an interview with the selection panel. The panel will assess your suitability and language skills before the scholarship is awarded.

How realistic are your chances?

The requirements are specific. You need a recent Spanish (or recognised) qualification, must be aged 30 or under, and must not yet have any professional experience in your field. This narrows down the pool of applicants. If you clearly meet these criteria and make a good impression at the interview, your prospects are good. Applying early, along with good grades and language skills, is an advantage, as there are only a limited number of internship places available with the partner organisations in each round.
