About this scholarship
Erasmus+ supplementary allowance (University of Jaén)
If you go abroad as part of an Erasmus+ exchange from the University of Jaén in Spain, you will receive a extra 125 EUR per month for up to 12 months. This is paid in addition to the standard EU Erasmus+ grant, which ranges from around 350 to 700 euros per month, depending on your destination. The Regional Government of Andalusia and the University fund this supplement to help cover the higher cost of living abroad.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s degree programme (Grado) at the University of Jaén. There are separate application rounds for Master’s and PhD students.
- Study progress: You have earned at least 30 ECTS credits and are in at least your second year of study at the start of the exchange.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. They must be from an EU country or another Erasmus+ programme country, or hold a valid Spanish residence permit that is valid for the entire duration of the exchange.
- Length of stay: Your stay abroad will last at least 60 days and will not result in you exceeding the 12-month Erasmus+ limit per study cycle.
- Language: You can provide evidence that you have achieved the language level required by your host university.
How to apply
First, please contact the academic coordinator for your chosen place of study. You should then apply online via the university’s electronic application portal. The application deadline for the 2026/27 round was 7 January, and the next round is expected to take place at the end of 2026. Places are allocated primarily on the basis of your grade point average and proven language skills.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding is available exclusively to students at the University of Jaén who have secured an Erasmus+ place; the pool of applicants is therefore small. If you have 30 credit points, have reached your second year of study and can provide evidence of your language proficiency, your chances are good. Selection is based on your grades and language certificates, not on a shortage of funding. A higher grade point average and a higher language level (B2, C1, C2) will improve your position in the ranking.
