University of Zaragoza - Grants for Bachelor and Master Students

What you get

You will receive financial support to help fund your studies at University of Zaragoza in Spain for the current academic year. The support is divided into three parts:

• Tuition fees for courses you are taking for the first time will be covered in full.
• Up to 600 EUR to cover study-related costs.
• Up to 600 EUR if you have to live away from home because the campus is too far away.

This is the university’s own funding scheme. It supplements the state grants provided by the Spanish Ministry of Education. If you are studying part-time, you can only apply for the portion that covers your tuition fees.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s (Grado) or Master’s degree programme at the University of Zaragoza this year.
• No prior degree: You do not yet hold a qualification at the level for which you are applying. To apply for a Master’s programme, you must not already hold another Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
• Field of study: All subjects are open, but the minimum grade requirements vary depending on the department.
• Grades: First-year Bachelor’s students must have an entry grade of at least 5.0. From the second year onwards, they must have earned a specified proportion of their credit points (between 50% and 75%, depending on their degree programme). Master’s students must have a grade point average of at least 5.0 and have passed 85% credit points from their first year of study in order to retain their funding in the second year.
• Financial need: Your family income must remain below the thresholds set by the Ministry. The thresholds vary slightly depending on the type of support.
• National grant application: Regardless of the outcome, you must also apply for the general grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education (or the Basque Government) for the same year. If you fail to do so, your application will be automatically rejected.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. Students from non-EU countries must have permanent residence status, not just a student residence permit.

How to apply

Please complete the online form on the university’s student portal. You should then submit it, together with the signed forms, via the university’s electronic office (SEDE ELECTRÓNICA/SOLICIT@). The application period runs from 9 to 27 February 2026. There will be no interview.

How realistic are your chances?

As this funding is tied to a specific university and subject to income and academic performance criteria, the pool of eligible applicants is small from the outset. If you are studying in Zaragoza, meet the grade requirements for your degree programme, do not exceed the income limits and apply for state funding, your chances are good. The most common reason for a rejection is quite simply that applicants have forgotten to apply for the Ministry’s funding first.
