About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive 1,000 EUR per month for up to 3 years to work on your PhD in the fields of energy, the environment and sustainability, with a focus on radioactive waste and nuclear energy. The scholarship is awarded by the Cátedra ENRESA, a research chair established in 2013 by the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Cuenca, Spain, in collaboration with ENRESA, the Spanish state-owned company responsible for radioactive waste management. You will also contribute to the Chair’s research, training and knowledge-sharing activities.

Who can apply

  • Level: You are enrolled on a PhD programme.
  • University: You are studying at the University of Castilla-La Mancha in Spain.
  • Field: Her research focuses on environmental engineering, with a particular emphasis on energy, the environment and sustainability, especially radioactive waste and nuclear energy.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications to the University of Castilla-La Mancha must be submitted by 20 December.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very narrowly defined. You must already be undertaking a PhD at this particular Spanish university and be working on a topic related to radioactive waste and nuclear energy. This means the pool of eligible applicants is small; so, if you clearly meet the subject area and programme requirements, your chances are good. Please apply by the deadline in December.
