University of Burgos - Scholarships for the Master´s Degree in Development Cooperation

What you get

You will receive a grant of scholarship of 1,500 EUR towards the costs of the Master’s programme in ‘Development Cooperation’ at University of Barcelona. The full title of the programme is ‘Globalización, Desarrollo y Cooperación’ (Globalisation, Development and Cooperation). This is a University of Barcelona qualification worth 60 ECTS credits, taught in Spanish at the Faculty of Economics. The programme is a part-time course lasting approximately one to two years. Classes take place in the evenings, so you can study whilst working. The scholarships are funded by the Diputació de Barcelona, the provincial council for the Greater Barcelona area.

Who can apply

• Your job: You work as a civil servant for a local authority in the province of Barcelona.
• Degree: You are applying for the Master’s degree programme in ‘Development Cooperation’ at the University of Barcelona.
• Language: You can follow the lessons in Spanish, as the course is taught in Spanish.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

The Diputació de Barcelona awards three of these scholarships each year. To enrol on the Master’s programme, you must register with the University of Barcelona by 11 December.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding is awarded on a very selective basis. Only a small number of scholarships are awarded each year, and only civil servants working for local authorities in the Greater Barcelona area are eligible. This means that the pool of eligible applicants is small. If you work for one of these local authorities and would like to study development cooperation, your chances are good – so make sure you apply in good time.
