Academic Excellence Scholarship of the Catholic University of Ávila

You will receive 10,000 EUR in total, paid in four annual instalments of 2,500 EUR each over the four years of your Bachelor’s degree. You will receive each instalment upon enrolment, provided that your tuition fees for the relevant year exceed 2,500 EUR. If your tuition fees are lower, you will receive exactly the amount shown on your enrolment invoice. The funds come from the Friends of the Catholic University of Ávila (UCAV) Association, an organisation that finances scholarships for students at the university, particularly those from Ávila and the province of Ávila.

Who can apply

• Where you're from: You were born in, or live in, the city or province of Ávila.
• University: You are enrolling as a first-year student on a face-to-face degree programme at the Catholic University of Ávila.
• Field of study: Every degree programme offered by the university as a face-to-face course.
• Grades: Your average mark must be at least 8.50 in the general stage of the Spanish university entrance examination (EBAU) or at least 8.50 in your upper secondary vocational training (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior).
• No prior degree: You do not yet hold an official university degree. It is not a problem if you completed your secondary education in an earlier year.
• Staying eligible: To keep the yearly instalments, you must keep a study average of at least 8 and pass 90% of the credits you enrolled in the previous year.

How to apply

Please submit the signed application form and your supporting documents to the office of the Friends of UCAV by 30 October. Only one scholarship will be awarded, to the applicant with the best academic record amongst those who meet the eligibility criteria.

How realistic are your chances?

Only one scholarship will be awarded, to the applicant with the best overall performance; consequently, competition is extremely fierce, even though the pool of eligible applicants is small. The requirement to be based in Ávila, to be enrolled in your first year at this specific university, and to have a grade point average of at least 8.50 significantly narrows the field. If you clearly meet these conditions and are among the best in your year group, you have a real chance.
