About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a grant of one-off grant of up to 800 EUR to help fund a study or work placement abroad. The amount depends on the duration of your stay: 400 EUR for 2 to 3 months, 600 EUR for 3 to 6 months and 800 EUR for 6 to 10 months. The funding comes from the Fundació Antiga Caixa Manlleu in collaboration with the University of Vic (UVic-UCC), which distributes 10,000 EUR each year amongst students going abroad.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled this year in one of the four faculties at the Vic Campus of UVic-UCC (Education, Translation Studies, Sport and Psychology; Health and Social Sciences; Business and Communication; or Natural Sciences, Technology and Engineering).
  • Level: You are a student on a Bachelor’s, official Master’s or PhD programme.
  • Placement abroad: You have already secured a place on a degree programme at a partner university abroad, an internship at a partner institution or (for PhD students) a research placement at a foreign university or research centre lasting at least 2 months.
  • Where you go: You may travel to any country except the one of which you are a national. Your stay must be between 1 June 2025 and 30 June 2026.
  • Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply. If you are not a Spanish national, you must provide proof that you will be living in Catalonia during the course for which you are applying.
  • Other funding: You may combine this grant with public funding schemes such as Erasmus+ or MOBINT-MIF, but not with any other private mobility grant from UVic-UCC.
  • First time: You have not yet received a grant from the Fundació Antiga Caixa Manlleu.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the online form in the ‘International’ section of the UVic-UCC website. Please include a short personal statement in Catalan, Spanish or English. The application deadline is 14 November. A UVic-UCC committee assesses applicants primarily on the basis of their grade point average. For each faculty, one scholarship is reserved for the best Erasmus+ student and one for the best student from that faculty’s degree programme.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very restrictive. Only students from four specific faculties at UVic who have already secured a place at a university abroad are eligible to apply, so the pool of eligible candidates is small. Funding is limited, and awards are made primarily on the basis of academic average. Good grades and a place at a university confirmed at an early stage are the most important factors. If you clearly fit the criteria for the faculties mentioned and can demonstrate solid grades, your chances are good.
