What you get

You could win a reduction in tuition fees of up to 36,850 EUR for the Esade Executive MBA in Barcelona or Madrid. The full programme costs 73,700 EUR. The prize money comes from the ‘Executive MBA Challenge’, a video competition organised by the business school. There are three prizes: 50% of the tuition fees (approx. 36,850 EUR) for first place, 40% (approx. 29,480 EUR) for second place and 30% (approx. 22,110 EUR) for third place. ESADE also awards several ‘Excellence Awards’ to outstanding applicants, including a ‘Diversity Award’, an ‘Entrepreneurship Award’, a ‘Leadership Award’ and prizes for women. Applicants may only receive one prize per category.

Who can apply

• Programme: You must have been admitted to the Esade Executive MBA, a part-time Master’s programme for working professionals, which is offered in Barcelona, Madrid or online.
• Degree: You hold a university degree.
• Work experience: You have at least four years’ full-time professional experience.
• English: You have an advanced level of English, as demonstrated by a TOEFL 100, IELTS 6.5, TOEIC 850, CAE grade C or Duolingo 130+ score.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• The video: For the challenge, you’ll record a video of up to five minutes in English or Spanish, in which you talk about a professional experience that has shaped you as a leader.

How to apply

Firstly, you will go through the admissions process for the Executive MBA. This comprises an admissions test (or GMAT, GRE or EA results) and a personal interview. For the Challenge, please submit your video by 7 September. The winners will be announced on 15 September. For the ‘Excellence Awards’, you will need to submit an essay or evidence of your achievements after you have been admitted, and a panel of judges will make the decision.

How realistic are your chances?

You are applying for a top-tier MBA programme that attracts outstanding candidates from around the world – so competition is fierce. The outcome of the competition will be decided by the quality of a single video; therefore, a clear, compelling story about your leadership qualities is more important than a polished profile. Only three winners will be selected, which makes the competition tough, but a well-told, authentic story gives you a real chance.
