Francisco de Vitoria University - Academic Excellence Scholarships for Local Students

What you get

At the Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) in Pozuelo de Alarcón, near Madrid, you will receive a 90% cut on your tuition fees. You will still need to pay the enrolment fee and the fee for reserving your place on the course. The university awards this scholarship as part of agreements with several local authorities in the area surrounding its campus and offers a fixed number of places per local authority each year. You can apply in any academic year except your final year.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are starting a Bachelor’s degree (Grado) at the UFV.
• Where you live: Your family home is in one of the partner towns: Alcobendas, Boadilla del Monte, Galapagar, Las Rozas, Majadahonda or Pozuelo de Alarcón. You need a family residence certificate (empadronamiento) at least 6 months old.
• School results: You completed your Bachillerato (Spanish upper secondary education) in the years 2025–2026 and passed the PAU (university entrance examination, also known as ‘Selectividad’) in the regular 2026 examination session.
• Entry grade: You achieved an average of at least 9.00 out of 10 marks in your CAU. This is your university entrance mark, which is made up of your Bachillerato mark and your mark in the general phase of the PAU.
• Field of study: All subjects except medicine and dentistry.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the UFV application portal. For new first-year students, the application period runs from 15 to 30 June 2026, with no exceptions. A committee draws up a ranking list of applicants based on their CAU mark in relation to the number of places available for each city. In the event of a tie, the higher Bachillerato average will be decisive.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is aimed at a small target group: only pupils from six specific towns with a CAU mark of at least 9.00 are eligible to apply, and there are only one to three places available for each town. Although there are only a few applicants per city, the grade requirement is high and places are allocated strictly on the basis of marks. If you live in a partner city, achieve the 9.00 mark and apply in June, your chances are good.
