About this scholarship
Income-Based Scholarships (Ayudas Económicas UFV)
At the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV), a private university in Pozuelo de Alarcón near Madrid, you will receive a discount of up to 30% off your monthly tuition fees. This is not a cash payment. The discount reduces the fees you pay for an academic year. The UFV determines the exact percentage on a case-by-case basis, based on your family income and your academic results. The UFV offers this scheme to ensure that high-achieving students are not prevented from studying due to financial difficulties. The discount does not apply to the enrolment fee or the fee for reserving a place at the university.
Who can apply
- Degree level: You are studying at the UFV or are just starting a bachelor’s degree (Grado). Both prospective students and those already enrolled can apply.
- Field of study: Applies to all Bachelor’s degree programmes. The only exception is the first year of the Medicine degree programme, during which this discount does not apply.
- Study year: You can apply in any academic year, except your final year. In your final year, there are other options available at the UFV instead.
- Financial need: Your total family income must remain below certain thresholds. Examples of 2026–27: up to 18,900 EUR for a single-person household, 43,000 EUR for three people, 50,900 EUR for four people, and higher amounts for larger families.
- Grades (new applicants): The UFV assesses your school-leaving grades and your score in the entrance test.
- Grades (enrolled students): You have passed all your modules from the previous academic year, have no disciplinary sanctions, are up to date with your payments, and are taking at least 60 credits (or 30 for a pro-rata discount).
- Nationality: All nationalities welcome.
How to apply
Applications are made online each year. First-time applicants should use the ‘Portal del Candidato’; enrolled students should use the ‘Portal Universitario’. There are two application rounds per year, with deadlines on 30. June and 25 July respectively. First-time applicants must first pass the UFV entrance test and pay the place reservation fee. The admissions committee may request additional documents or an interview.
How realistic are your chances?
This is a comprehensive, well-funded support programme: around 30% of UFV students receive some form of support, with over 7,000 students receiving assistance and more than 10 million euros being invested each year. Your prospects are good if your family income is below the threshold and your grades are good. Apply in the first round, as places and funding are limited.
