Catholic University of San Antonio - Short-Term Travel Grants for Doctoral Students

What you get

You will receive a grant of around 900 EUR for a short research stay at a research centre outside your PhD institution. The stay lasts between 15 days and 3 months and must take place within the academic year. The grant covers your travel and living expenses during the stay. It is provided by the Catholic University of San Antonio in Murcia, Spain (UCAM), which uses it to enable its researchers to gain experience in other locations.

Who can apply

• Your university: You are a member of UCAM’s research staff, either as a PhD student working on your thesis or as someone who has already obtained a PhD.
• Where you go: You will be based at a research centre other than the one where you are undertaking your PhD. This may be in Spain or abroad, with preference given to centres abroad.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

You apply through the application page of UCAM's research vice-rectorate. Apply at least 2 months before the stay starts if it is abroad, or at least 1 month before for a stay in Spain. You can apply until 31 August 2027.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is open exclusively to UCAM’s own PhD students and researchers, meaning that the pool of applicants is small and limited to a single university. If you are a member of UCAM’s research staff, have already found a host institution and apply in good time before the start of your stay, your chances are good. Applying early is advisable, as the deadlines depend on when your stay begins.
