About this scholarship

Brown Alumni Scholarship

You will receive a 20% discount on the tuition of the IE Brown Executive MBA worth approximately 27,000 EUR (approximately 29,400 USD off the tuition fees of approximately 147,100 USD for the course starting in March 2026). This is a one-off discount on tuition fees, not a monthly payment. It applies to the entire 15-month programme. The IE Brown Executive MBA is a joint programme run by IE Business School in Madrid and Brown University in Providence, USA, aimed at experienced executives. The discount is only available to those who have previously studied at Brown University.

Who can apply

  • Brown link: You have already graduated from Brown University.
  • Programme: You are applying for the IE Brown Executive MBA and are accepted onto the programme. The discount applies exclusively to this business programme.
  • Experience: The programme is aimed at managers in the workplace. The typical participant is around 40 years old and has around 16 years’ professional experience.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
  • Combining: This discount cannot be combined with the ‘Corporate Match’ benefit or any existing corporate agreement with IE or Brown.

How to apply

Applications for the IE Brown Executive MBA are submitted via IE’s online application portal. They must include a CV, two essays, academic transcripts, two letters of recommendation and an application fee of 150 EUR. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority deadlines running from 13 July 2026 until the final deadline on 18 January 2027 for the 2027 intake. Shortlisted candidates will attend a face-to-face interview – either on campus, as part of an admissions event, or via video. The final decision is then made by a joint committee comprising representatives from IE and Brown.

How realistic are your chances?

This discount is very narrowly defined: you must be a graduate of Brown University and have been admitted to a demanding Executive MBA programme for senior managers, meaning that very few people meet the criteria. If you fit this profile, the discount is essentially granted automatically and there is no competition amongst applicants. The real hurdle is gaining admission to the programme itself; therefore, an early priority deadline gives you the most time to secure your place.
