ceiA3-Campus of International Excellence in Food and Agriculture - International academic mobility grants for undergraduate students

What you get

You will receive a Erasmus+ grant for one semester at a partner university in another European country, which is worth up to approximately 1,916 EUR in total over a period of five months. The monthly amount depends on where you are going: approximately 300 EUR for countries with a higher cost of living (such as Denmark, Ireland, Norway and Sweden), 250 EUR for countries with a medium cost of living (such as Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands) and 200 EUR for countries with a lower cost of living (such as Poland, Romania, Croatia and Hungary). If you also receive a Spanish government grant or have refugee status, you will receive an additional 200 EUR per month. Your semester abroad will count towards your degree as part of a study plan agreed in advance, usually worth between 12 and 30 ECTS credits. The scholarship is provided by ceiA3, a consortium of five Spanish universities specialising in the agricultural and food sector: Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Huelva and Jaén.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are enrolled on a bachelor’s degree programme (Grado) at one of the five ceia3 universities: Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Huelva or Jaén.
• Field of study: Your degree programme is one of the programmes in the field of agricultural and food economics that are affiliated with the ceiA3.
• Credits done: By the application deadline, you will have earned at least 60 ECTS credits.
• Language: You have at least B1 in the language of the host university, as evidenced by an official certificate.
• What you do abroad: Study placements must be undertaken exclusively at a European partner university listed in the call for applications. No work placements and no final dissertation.
• Nationality: EU citizens, as well as persons lawfully resident in Spain, refugees or stateless persons who hold a residence permit covering the entire duration of their stay, are eligible to participate.
• No double funding: You may not receive another EU-funded mobility grant at the same time. The total duration of Erasmus+ funding during your Bachelor’s degree is limited to 12 months (24 for veterinary medicine students).

How to apply

Complete the online form, then print it out, sign it and submit it, together with your supporting documents, to your home university by the deadline in September. Applicants are assessed primarily on the basis of their grade point average (up to 7 points) and their language skills (up to 3 points: 2 for the required language certificate and up to 1 for additional foreign languages). In the event of a tie, the decision will be based first on academic grades, then on language proficiency and finally on credit points.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very specific: you must be enrolled on a bachelor’s degree programme in agricultural and food sciences at one of five specific Spanish universities, meaning that only a small number of students meet the criteria. In recent rounds of applications, around ten places have been awarded, and selection depends mainly on your grade point average and your language certificates. If you are a clear fit for this subject area and these universities, and you have good grades and a solid language certificate, your chances are good.
